Go Forward

about

In Exodus 14 the children of Israel were cornered. They grumbled to Moses that it would have been better to go back and serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness. When Moses questioned the Lord in verse 15 the Lord told Moses don’t cry to Me. Tell the people to “Go Forward” then He parted the red sea. I heard a preacher say “there’s a reason the windshield is four feet wide and the rear view mirror is one foot wide. Our focus should be on where we are going, not where we’ve been. What’s in the past had passed! “Don’t look back, you’re not going that way! When you feel like the way ahead is impossible, God will make a way if you trust Him!

lyrics

Verse 1
The nation of Israel had been set free
Pharaoh’s army went after them they couldn’t see
They cried out to the Lord they were on the run
They said to Moses what have you done
Moses said Lord what shall I do
I’ve done everything that you asked me to
The Lord said Moses don’t cry to me
Go forward. Then he parted the Red Sea

Chorus
Go forward, you’ve been set free
I’m the Lord your God put your faith in me
Go forward. Don’t live in the past
I’m the Alpha Omega, the first and the last
Go forward. Tell every one you meet
That the Lord your God has made your life complete
Go forward. There’s a brighter day
Don’t look back. You’re not going that way

Verse 2
You’re life’s going wrong. It’s been so long
The presence of God seems long gone
You’re crying to the Lord, you’re on the run
You keep thinking about the things that you have done
You’re praying to the Lord what should you do
Thinking you missed something He asked he asked of you
He saying it doesn’t matter any more
Go forward. I’ll open the door

Repeat Chorus

Bridge
Keep your eyes on the prize it keeps getting nearer
Look through the windshield, not the rear view mirror

Repeat Chorus

After years of unproductive activities--trying to prove to the world that being in a wheelchair was not going to keep me from living a "normal" life, I gave my life to Jesus Christ.

On March 10, 1990 He saved my soul. After six years of college and beginning a new career as an accountant, I began writing songs.
