I had a dear friend Mike Sweeney who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Parkinson’s disease. As his health declined he still praised the Lord, even when he couldn’t speak. His wife sent regular emails on his condition. One such email is the basis for the song. She told of what he meant to her when they met. It was just a beautiful love story in the midst of tragedy. Mike is “The Man” to begin the song. He told of “The Man” Jesus, and eventually went to be with Him!
